Garcia’s Bio
Edgard Garcia is a successful attorney who owns and operates his practice in the city of El Centro. He is a husband to Ari Garcia and father of three boys, Alexander (14), Nathan (13), and Dominic (11). He was born in Los Angeles, California on September 11th, 1982. Edgard obtained his high school diploma while attending Challenger Middle School in Antelope Valley. He began attending Antelope Valley Community College in 1996 at the young age of thirteen and later transferred to the University of Hartford in Connecticut. He was unable to complete his degree at the University of Hartford due to financial limitations but received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California in Santa Barbara in 2005. He began his career as an attorney in Imperial County after completing his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2008. In 2010 he began a partnership that led him to form his own practice, The Law Office of Edgard Garcia.
In 2015 Edgard was elected as a new Councilmember for the City of El Centro, served as Mayor in 2019 and is currently serving as the Mayor Pro-Tempore. He has served as a board of trustee’s member for the El Centro Regional Medical Center in 2021 and from 2022 to present. He is currently the District Director representing Imperial County in the League of California Cities serving on the Public Safety Committee and the Executive Finance Committee. Edgard has served as a board member on several non-profit organizations in the Imperial Valley including the El Centro Police Athletic League and the Imperial Valley College Foundation. He was the president of the Imperial County Bar Association in 2015 and the president of El Centro Rotary Club in 2016. He Received the Imperial Valley Young Professional Organization’s Leadership award for 2014 and has been named Super Lawyer Magazine’s Rising Star for the years 2016 through the present. He was recognized by Top Lawyer Southern California in 2021. He enjoys playing golf, watching his sons’ football and baseball games, spending time with friends and family, and attending community functions.
